Members of The Central (Scotland) Branch, The Parachute Regiment Association (Glasgow), with a wee bit of help from The Highland Light Infantry Association raised an amazing £1,148.63 for the RHF Museum Heritage Appeal at Central Station yesterday!
A really big Thank You and Well Done to the Paras, all veterans, mostly based in Glasgow, who volunteered to raise funds for the Appeal and led by their Chairman, Frank Cameron – that is just what they did! Of course, they were aided and abetted by Jim Divine and Jim Urquhart of The Highland Light Infantry Association.
We must also extend a big thank-you to Mark Ilderton (Central Station Manager), Catherine O’Neill (Station Support Assistant), and Scott McNeill (Station Shift Supervisor/Station Standard Bearer), for their help and forbearance(!) in the organisation of this very successful can collection.
Not forgetting you, the General Public, who actually put your pennies in the cans – we are very grateful and please be assured that the funds raised will go towards securing the future of our very important collection.
Thank you all once again and Very Well Done to everyone!
Oh, don’t forget they will be doing it all over again, three more times, in the Summer – so have your purses at the ready!
